I’m an AE1 (E-6) currently serving as a Quality Assurance Representative in the U.S. Navy. More importantly, I’m in the trenches with you: counting down to my own retirement in December 2026.
I started Nexus Point because the transition to veteran status is the most critical mission of our careers. I don’t just look at this through the lens of a career sailor; I bring a unique “insider” perspective and real-world experience to the table.
The “Nexus” Perspective
My approach to VA strategy is built on three pillars of experience:
The QAR Mindset: As a Quality Assurance Representative, I live by technical precision. I apply that same “zero-defect” inspection mindset to medical records and VA claims.
The RAPIDS Insider: Having served as a RAPIDS operator, I’ve been behind the terminal. I understand the mechanics of DEERS, eligibility, and the administrative hurdles that can make or break your access to benefits.
The Civilian Reality: I took an 8-year break in service before returning to finish my career. I know exactly what it’s like to navigate the civilian sector and the “benefits gap.” That time away gave me invaluable perspective on why getting your VA strategy right before you hang up the uniform is non-negotiable.
Our Current Mission
We are retiring at a turning point. From the 2026 COLA adjustments to the shifting rules on Sleep Apnea and Tinnitus ratings, the landscape is moving fast. Nexus Point is here to document my own BDD (Benefits Delivery at Discharge) journey in real-time so you can learn from my process.
We don’t just “get out.” We retire with a plan. Welcome to the connection point for your next chapter.
